Who We Are
Patriot Medical Gas Solutions was founded in 2018 by Dave Osborn, the sole and current owner still. His vision for the company has always been to put the patient first! With many years of experience in the industry working for other companies, Dave saw the good practices as well as many areas that needed to be improved. When he started PMGS, he wanted to take all those lessons, the good and the bad, and implement a new and hopefully better way of doing business within this incredible industry!
It is always our goal to put patient care and safety first! As ASSE 6030 Medical Gas Verifiers and ASSE 6040 Medical Gas Maintenance Personnel, it is our job to ensure that the Medical Gas Systems within hospitals, surgery centers, nursing homes, dental clinics, and many more, are in strict compliance with NFPA 99 Code Standards and safe for patient use. We do not claim to be perfect, but every time we step on site, it is our primary focus to assess the current system, review the drawings, or inspect the on-going construction to ensure that what is being done is within the best practices and adhering to the codes that govern the use of Medical Gas Systems. There are many out there that are willing to look the other way or to ignore code discrepancies or even “inspect” a facility by simply copying the previous year’s report. That is NOT at all what you will find with PMGS! We take pride in being thorough and paying close attention to detail EVERY time that we come out. If there are discrepancies found, we work with the facility to find solutions that make sense and within their budget to bring their systems into compliance.
Moving forward, we are dedicated to continuous personal and professional development. We are always looking for growth opportunities and ways to improve our services for our clientele. Dave has never stopped reinvesting back into the company to provide better tools, more education, and improved solution offerings. Dave Osborn
President
Dave started Patriot Medical Gas Solutions, LLC in January of 2018. He is a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, leaving the Marine Corps honorably as a Sergeant of Marines. He wanted his love for our country and the sense of duty and honor to be reflected in the name of the company and how we conduct our business. He is an experienced ASSE 6030 Medical Gas Verifier and has had more than 10-years within the Medical Gas Industry, as well as over 12-years in the Industrial Compressed Air Industry, and 5-years as an aviation mechanic/inspector on turbo-shaft jet engines. After spending several years with one of the world's top Medical Gas Equipment Manufacturers, then on to start and run the Medical Gas Division at a regional Compressed Air Company, Dave branched out on his own. PMGS started in Dave’s spare room at his house for an office and using his garage to store parts and tools and making service calls in his sports sedan! Just 4 years later, the company has grown to what it is today, 5 incredible and talented people here to serve the Mid-South Region’s Healthcare facilities. We are now operating out of a large office and warehouse building on the southeast side of Memphis, TN. Our service sedan has been replaced by 3 service trucks, a sales SUV, and a large box truck for use as a mobile workshop or large equipment transportation. Dave has spent the last 4-years reinvesting in the company to make it better every year! His motto of making the patient care the first priority shows as he continues to find ways to improve our products and services as well as obtaining better tools to perform our services safer and more efficiently for our clients.
Tom Osborn
Operations Manager
Tom joined the team as our new Operations Manager! Not only is Tom Dave’s father, but he also brings over 30-years of experience sourcing and quoting materials within the Pipe, Valve, and Fittings Industry. Over the course of the last decade, he has utilized his experience as the leading industrial inside salesman for one of North America’s largest plumbing supply houses. 7 of the years he spent in Pipe, Valve, and Fittings, Tom was in management, leading the daily operations as a branch manager. Tom has one of the strongest work ethics you’ll ever encounter and has a proven track record of going above and beyond for his customers. Tom’s work ethics and his moral compass was always something that was at the forefront of his teachings as he led by his example while raising his sons. It goes without saying that we are excited to bring him into our work family as well! With his skills and abilities, he will allow the owner, Dave, to spend more quality time in the field with our facility directors and with mechanical contractors and engineers, assisting them with consultations, verifications and putting his mechanical troubleshooting skills to use again. We are happy to welcome Tom into our team and look forward to putting his many years of experience to use!
Allie Shepard
Office Manager
Allie was hired in November of 2019 and served as our Office Manager until the birth of her firstborn in November 2021. She has committed herself to filling in when needed as well as making herself available as a consultant for Dave. She brought an incredible attitude and a bubbly personality to our team as she took on the roles of HR, Accounting, Payroll, and Clerical. She was able to do all of this while having a smile on her face and encouraging words to the employees. We will surely miss having her at the office every day, but we are grateful for the time she spent with us. We wish her all the best as she tackles the toughest yet most rewarding job on earth, being a MOM!
Scott Penix
Senior Service Specialist
Scott came to us in 2018, bringing many years of experience in the Medical Gas Industry, as well as a wealth of knowledge that he gained while working in related fields such as Hospital Maintenance and his 6-years in the Navy as a Boiler Technician 3rd Class and leaving the service honorably as a Petty Officer 3rd Class. Scott is currently credentialed as an ASSE 6030 Medical Gas Verifier and has been since 2003. There isn’t a lot in our industry that he hasn’t seen, so you can count on him to be able to assist you in finding code approved and cost-effective solutions to just about any Medical Gas related issue your facility may be experiencing. As you can see by our name, we are patriotic to this great country of ours, and hiring veterans is always a priority for us whenever it is possible. We are proud to have Scott as one of our own!
Kenny McDuffie
Service Specialist
Kenny has been a part of our team since 2018 as well. Starting out as our “muscle” as you might expect with his large stature! At over 6’ 5” tall and built like a defensive lineman, he has proven his worth on every pump or equipment replacement job we have done since his arrival. Along with his muscle, Kenny has a work ethic like no other! When he sets out to do a job, he won’t quit until the job is complete, including cleaning the work area and equipment as if a dinner party were about to be seated there! Over the last 4-years, Kenny’s knowledge of the industry has vastly improved, and he is ready to apply that knowledge to assist your facility with preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting and repairs. His big smile and easy nature make having him at your facility a true pleasure, even if he is there because you have had a catastrophic failure that you need him to fix.
Cassy French
Sales and Marketing
Cassy just joined our team in February 2022, but she brings with her a zeal for learning our industry as she applies her 5-years of sales and quoting experience to our clientele. She also brings more than 2-years of marketing experience to help our company get the proper exposure and to help us continue to grow. As a small business, it has been our goal to be able to assist more of the Mid-South Healthcare Facilities with their Medical Gas needs. With Cassy at the forefront of our marketing and sales, we are hopeful that more facilities can benefit from our many years of experience, making their capabilities to provide the best patient care easier than ever by being able to trust that the Medical Gases and the delivery systems for those gases are operating at peak performance. We are excited to see what the future holds for Cassy as she learns our industry and applies that knowledge to helping our clientele.
